Pirate Pathways
Pirate Pathways is RFISD’s PK-12 initiative that unites the district’s programs for college and career awareness and readiness, workforce development, and equity training. The campus plans are developed and monitored by campus counselors, College and Career Readiness Coordinator, and administrative lead.
The initiative is in alignment with the Texas School Model for Comprehensive Counseling and is designed to accomplish the following goals:
- Students are motivated to succeed in personal endeavors
- Students demonstrate career exploration skills
- Students possess the knowledge and skills to gather information for the purpose of postsecondary education and career planning
- Students will demonstrate awareness of the importance of postsecondary education
- Students will understand the relationship of academics to the world of work and to life at home in the community
