I have always called this stretch of the coast "home" and came through ACISD as a student. I spent 10 fantastic years in the classroom teaching English Language Arts and Reading to 10th and 12th graders and, after obtaining a master's degree in English with certification in administration, I now work in the curriculum office supporting teachers and administrators. I have loved being part of a system that changes and grows with students and teachers. I currently oversee our district's dyslexia and ESL programs, and I work with a great team of professionals to support curriculum and instruction in ACISD.
As long as I am part of public education, it is my goal to preserve the professionality of the educator and promote a positive learning environment where all students learn and grow.
While my husband and I love international travel to places we have never seen, I am just as content with hopping in the car to find a quiet stretch of beach with a book in my hand. I'm also a fan of good food, hopefully prepared in my kitchen for and with the people I love most. Even though I'm not in the classroom with 120 students anymore, I think teenagers keep me young so we spend time serving as mentors to the teens in this community through our church family. These guys and girls keep us busy and active.
