I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Ingleside, Texas. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Southwest Texas State University. After living in Austin for a few years, I decided to return to the coastal bend, and moved to beautiful Rockport in 1988. A very active cats lives with me. His name is Rocky. He makes me laugh, everyday! I also have a chiweenie named Tiny, who is the sweetest dog, ever!
This is my 30th year to teach in ACISD. Eighteen of those years were spent teaching first graders. Twelve years ago, I moved to third grade, and I absolutely love it! I've always loved to read, and I hope to teach my students to love reading.
My goal is to prepare my students for fourth grade, as well as instill a love of reading and learning that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
I love to travel to new and exciting places. One of my favorite places I've traveled is Pike's Peak in Colorado. It is absolutely beautiful!
Attending sporting events is another thing I do for fun! My favorite teams are the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. I've even been to the training camp of the Cowboys!
Of course, reading is one of my favorite activities. There's nothing better than getting lost in a wonderful book! I particularly enjoy historical fiction, biographies, and inspirational books.
I have listed a few series that your child may enjoy reading. They are:
Magic Tree House The Polk Street Kids Junie B. Jones Flat Stanley
