A little bit about my professional experience:

  • This will be my 16th year teaching Spanish.
  • Most of my career has been at the university level, but I have also taught Spanish at public and private high schools and community colleges.
  • For most of the past 10 years, I have taught >2 online courses each semester and coordinated online programs/courses for the Department of Modern Languages at UT Arlington.
  • I am fluent in American Sign Language(ASL) and coordinated the ASL section at UTA
  • I've been wanting to return to the K-12 level, so I'm really looking forward to teaching Spanish at RFHS!
  • Find out more about me on our Google Site.

Where did you go to school?

  • After graduating from Richardson High School (Dallas area), I attended Richland Community College and the University of Texas at Arlington.
  • I have a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and a Masters degree in Spanish from UTA.

How do I contact you?

How quickly will you respond?

  • I respond to emails within 24 hours M-F.
  • Emails received on Friday evening through Sunday, will receive a response on Monday morning.

When can I meet with you?

  • My office hours/tutoring times are:
    • Mon + Fri: 9:00am-10:00am
    • Tues + Thurs: 3:30pm-4:00pm
  • Please feel free reach out to me if these times do not work for you.

Where do I find the assignments to complete?

  • Use our Google Site to find the assignments as well as other resources in the daily tasks.
  • Google Sites will link to assignments on ConnectEd, Google Classroom and other websites; it will be the one stop shop to access the materials and assignments for the course.

What if I'm going to miss an upcoming assignment?

  • I understand life happens occasionally, please reach out to me by email me to request an extension.

What if the due date has already passed and I didn't submit an assignment?

  • I prefer to know ahead of time.  However, occasionally life happens, so email me so we can discuss this further.

I need to pull up my grade, do you offer extra credit?

  • Yes, there will be a variety of extra credit assignments throughout the year that can help boost your grade.
  • These will be posted throughout the year, so it's very important to take advantage of these opportunities when they are available.

I didn't do well on an assignment; do you drop the lowest grades?

  • I do drop some daily/homework grades each grading session.
  • I will also offer chances to makeup/redo some assignments.

Are there any other resources available to me?

  • Yes, the Weekly Assignment pages on our Google Site will have links and other resources to help you be successful throughout the course.
  • If you need further help, I'm only an email away!

I'm kind of nervous about taking Spanish Honors, is there a way I could see what other students think about you who took your class in the past

Does your course have a syllabus?
