Gloria Alonso

About Me

My name is Mrs. Gloria Alonso, I have taught Elementary Education for 24 years in Texas, Illinois, Oregon and Utah.  I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education, from Texas A & I University in Kingsville.  I have endorsements from the State of Texas in Reading, Kindergarten, and Bilingual Education/English as a Second Language.

I am a native Texan and I have lived in Rockport for the past 6 years.  I am happily married to my husband Dan Alonso for 26 years and have three wonderful daughters, Danielle, Alyssa, and Nicole.  All three of our daughters are in college so we are presently empty nesters.

I view elementary education as a very essential and fundamental element in every child's life.  I strongly feel I can be an influential contributor to this essential element.  I truly enjoy working with children and being a part of their academic growth.

My Interests

My favorite past time is spending time with my family. I enjoy saltwater fishing with my husband on our boat.  We spend alot of time outdoors, at the beach, bird watching and volunteering with the San Antonio Bay Foundation where my husband is the Executive Director.
