My name is Katie Patteson! I am lucky to be a part of the ACISD School Counselor Team. The 2020-2021 school year marks my 21st year as an educator, and my 17th year as a member of the Fulton Learning Center Family. As a graduate of Lamar University, I obtained my Master's (M.Ed.) degree in School Counseling in 2014. Prior to completing my graduate program, I received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from Texas State University in 2000. My teaching experience has focused primarily on helping struggling learners so that they may reach their full potential. My passion is helping students succeed, while striving to make school an enjoyable, safe place to learn and grow.
"I will commit to providing a safe, nurturing learning environment in support of all stakeholders to facilitate healthy development in the areas of academics, career, and social growth for all students."
Every individual has value and worth and potential. It is through these eyes that I see school counselors as essential elements in creating the ideal environment for educational and developmental growth in children. Our students are each unique with diverse backgrounds and individual learning styles, with varied academic and personal needs. As a professional school counselor, it is my mission to embrace these challenges as I strive to create a safe, nurturing environment for all children, while addressing the unique needs of the school community and each individual. With this foundation, students are given the support needed to receive the best education and guidance in order to shape their future and reach their fullest academic and personal potential.
