Announcing Aransas County ISD Teachers of the Year!

We are proud to announce that Laura Groseclose has been selected as the ACISD Elementary Teacher of the Year and Yvonne Jaggard has been selected as the ACISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Groseclose is a Fourth Grade Teacher at Fulton Learning Center and Mrs. Jaggard is the Choir Director at Rockport-Fulton High School. The names of our district winners were revealed at the Shining Stars Banquet held on Sunday, April 28, 2019.  Mrs. Groseclose and Mrs. Jaggard will now go on to compete at the regional level this summer.

The other Campus Teachers of the Year are Linda Erwin, Discovery Learning Center; Amy Janssen, Live Oak Learning Center; and Mike Elkins, Rockport-Fulton Middle School.

The Texas Teacher of the Year Program honors excellence in classroom education and provides a forum to showcase many outstanding educators whose efforts and example have inspired their students, their colleagues, and the communities they serve.  At the campus level, Campus Teachers of the Year are selected by their peers. At the district level, the Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year are selected from the group of Campus Teachers of the Year by a selection committee chaired by ACISD Board President, Jack Wright. The most important criterion in evaluating nominees is their ability to inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.

Congratulations to all the ACISD Teachers of the Year! Thank you for your inspiring service to the children of Aransas County.
