Representing Rockport-Fulton Middle School for the 2019 “Do the Write Thing” essay challenge as Campus Ambassadors are Precious Westman (7th) and Jose Alvarado (8th). The “Do the Write Thing” essay challenge is a national essay contest open to middle school students across the Unites States. On May 22, 2019, Campus Ambassadors from the Coastal Bend area will be honored at a local awards and recognition banquet hosted by Communities In Schools. Two National Ambassadors will be announced at the banquet; these students, a parent, and their teacher will win a trip to attend National Recognition week in Washington, D.C. this July.
Paul Thompson (8th) wins the 2019 “Do the Write Thing” art contest. The art contest is in its second year and has been won by a RFMS student each year. Paul's artwork will be featured on t-shirts worn during National Recognition Week as well as displayed on the book cover of winning essays.
