Dear Parents of RFHS Seniors:
We are counting down the days until graduation and want to make sure all of our seniors' parents know about the final events students will have as RFHS Pirates.
Senior Awards Night, Tuesday 4/30, 5:30 PM
Senior awards will be held in the Martha Luigi Auditorium on April 30th at 5:30 PM. A list of seniors receiving recognition is available outside of the College and Career Center and will be updated regularly. All members of the Class of 2019 are encouraged to attend and honor their colleagues. Seniors must arrive at 5:00 pm. Official graduation attire* (see reverse side) is required, but not caps and gowns.
Senior Walk, Monday 5/03, 10:00 AM:
The senior class will march through the high school and middle school campuses during third period on May 03rd at 10:00 AM. The seniors will assemble in groups of colleges, branches of the military, and other post-secondary options. They will carry signs signifying their choice and are encouraged to wear a college shirt, military shirt, or their cap and gown.
Senior Exams, 5/24, 5/28, and 5/29
Senior exams are scheduled for May 24th, May 28th, and May 29th.
Senior Breakfast, Thursday 5/30, 9:00 AM
The Senior Breakfast in the high school Commons on May 30th at 9:00 AM is a fun opportunity for a final socialization event amongst graduating classmates. Besides eating breakfast, seniors will play games, watch the senior slideshow, and receive their honor medals, cords, and NHS stoles. Graduates will also have an opportunity to register to vote. Parents may attend at this time to view the senior slideshow, from 9:00-10:30 am.
Graduation Practice, Thursday 5/30, 11:00 AM
Directly after the Senior Breakfast, seniors will gather in the Green Gym to practice for the graduation ceremony.
Graduation, Friday 5/31, 7:31 PM
The Class of 2019 commencement ceremony will be held in the RFHS football stadium on May 31st at 7:30 PM. Seniors need to arrive at the Green Gym no later than 6:15 PM. Graduation attire* is required. (see reverse side) Graduates should carry their caps and gowns so faculty members may check attire and possessions for appropriateness and compliance with RFHS commencement standards. Large bags and backpacks are not permitted; however, ladies may carry a small purse that fits under their gowns. Students may bring their cell phones, but discretion and decorum is expected. As usual, diploma covers will be empty. Graduates owing no obligations or fees may pick up their diplomas from Mrs. Bleiker, RFHS registrar, the week after graduation.
** No air horns or noise makers will be allowed**
Project Graduation, Friday 5/31, ALL NIGHT LONG
Project Graduation, an event sponsored by the parents of graduates, will begin directly after the graduation ceremony. Many tireless volunteers have raised funds for this event throughout the school year. Graduates are encouraged to attend. If you have questions, please contact Shaunna Rios at email@example.com. If a parent would like to volunteer, please contact Randi Aery at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will miss the Class of 2019. They're an impressive group of young men and women. We wish them well in their future endeavors, and it is with heavy hearts that we prepare to say goodbye.
