Academic UIL Competes at GP Invitational
On January 26th, the RFHS UIL Academic team participated in the first invitational of the year. The contest was a learning experience for many new participants, and serious motivator for returning veterans. The competition was tough, but there were still several bright spots on the day.
Kira Deleon and Kendra Gibson placed 3rd and 5th respectively in Accounting
Belle Eaton placed 3rd in Calculator Applications
Jake Parr placed 4th in Current Issues and Events
Sophia Vaughn and Caitlyn Ramaker took 1st and 3rd respectively in Literary Criticism. Team of Sophia, Caitlyn, Nancy Coronado and Karys Hawkins took 1st place overall.
Ora Wilshire placed 3rd in Number sense
Mithcell Anderson and Sophia Vaughn places 1st and 3rd respectively in Ready Writing
Jake Parrr placed 6th in Science
Ciara Garcia tied for 6th in Spelling
Finally, Mitchell Anderson and Zachary Cannot placed 1st and 3rd in Computer Science with the team of Mitchell, Zach, Belle Eaton, and Jake Parr placing 1st overall all.
