School Counselor Appreciation Week - Fulton Learning Center - Katie Patteson

Katie Patteson
Katie Patteson
Continuing with celebrating National School Counseling Week, we would like to recognize Katie Patteson. She is our Counselor at Fulton Learning Center. Katie has been in education for 18 years with 14 of them in ACISD. Katie shared this with us…

In what areas of education have you worked:  This is my third year working as a school counselor.  Prior to this, I was an Elementary Special Education teacher for 15 years.  I have worked primarily with 4th and 5th grade for the majority of my career, but also taught special education at a K-5 campus, and middle school grades 6-8.

What are you most proud of:  Professionally, I am proud of many years of continued growth in education.  I hold multiple certifications which allowed me to meet the needs of a variety of students including ESL, all level Special Education, Early Childhood, and Elementary students.  Finally going back to get my Masters of Education in School Counseling was the icing on the cake.

What is your favorite part about being a school counselor:  I am lucky to work with amazing students and staff at Fulton!  FLC has a fun, family atmosphere that I have been blessed to be a part of for 14 years.  I enjoy helping students work through everyday problems so that they may be successful in both school and life.

What is a fun fact about you:  My family and friends will tell you, I LOVE to bake!!  I am always searching for new recipes to try … cookies, cakes, pies, you name it!!
