Rockport-Fulton High School Principal Scott Rogers gathered the RFHS faculty this morning to congratulate them for outstanding End of Course (STAAR) test results that were released by the Texas Education Agency. Highlights include: Algebra 1- 90% passed and 51% mastered the test. English 1 improved 10% year over year and English 2 improved 5% YOY. Biology improved 10% where 88% of students were successful and U.S History scored a 95% pass rate with 45% of students who scored mastered which is the highest score category.
Rogers emphasized the hard work by teachers and students to reach these levels and the momentum present to keep improving next year. He commented: “These scores show significant improvements, especially for a Title I school whose community is still in hurricane recovery. I give thanks to the teachers who have dedicated themselves to our kids success, and I am proud to disembark from a ship handed over in good order.” Final tabulations of all factors of school accountability will not be release by TEA until late summer. Students from the Pirates band, cheer, and NJROTC were present to honor the teachers upon their arrival for the announcement.
