Grant funds will provide first-grade students with hands-on math materials that will allow them to build a strong foundation, move from concrete representations to abstract thinking, and avoid common conceptual misunderstanding. The active learning station rotations and critical writing will give all student the opportunity to connect prior experiences to new learning and real life situations.
