About Our Department

The Information Systems Department’s duties are to maintain, plan, manage, assist in purchases and implement technologies into Aransas County Schools.

Planning
Technology is a integral part of the planning process. Curriculum and technology must integrate to form a complete learning environment.

Maintenance
ACISD has approximately 1474 computers and 329 laptops, 859 A/V devices, 207 ShoreTel IP Phones, 175 security cameras, 412 printers, 33 servers, 127 network switches and routers, hundreds of fiber and copper network drops that must be maintained daily. In addition to maintaining these systems, we handle over 575 work requests per month.

Management
The Technology Department manages one of the largest evolving computer networks in all of South Texas. User accounts exceed 1000 including over 500 email accounts. These numbers continue to rise.

Purchasing
Hundreds of requests come across the desk of the Technology Department for approval. The primary goal is to insure that users purchase the appropriate technologies at the right price in accordance with district plans and policies.

Implementation
Once the hardware and software arrive, it is the job of the Technology Department to see that all technologies are installed in accordance to the district standards
