This year-round program is designed to teach the values of citizenship and service to the community to our young men and women in high school. It emphasizes respect for authority, our country and its flag, and the benefits of leading healthy and drug-free lives, while strengthening academic performance and high school graduation. This past year, our program’s third full season, we had a positive impact on over 120 students, resulting in better grades, more community service hours, less discipline problems in school and at home, and an opportunity to build team-work and camaraderie with fellow students. NJROTC Headquarters awarded our unit the Unit Achievement Award, an honor reserved for the Top 50% of units in Area 10, encompassing most of the State of Texas. Our extra-curricular teams were extremely competitive, earning many team trophies and individual honors for our cadets. As a unit, we qualified for the Area 10 Texas State Championship Drill Meet in College Station, TX, placing 8th overall amongst the 16 Best NJROTC High Schools from across the State of Texas. This exceptional success has continued our momentum for the new year.
